I don’t need frills, I just wanted functional. I’ve paired Telephone with a SIP provider giving me a DID which is tied to a Google Voice account. Telephone makes calls, answers calls, allows DTMF, hold, mute, transfer. Compared to the bloated ‘stuff’ out there, it’s Telephone that I would gladly pay $$s for. 5 stars.

This does exactly what it claims to and is very easy to use. Great work.

Just like a real phone, you plug it (click install, enter your SIP username and password), dial and talk.

I set it up in a few minutes with my voip.ms account and it works great. It took me longer on the voip.ms setup (sub account & ring group) than configuring the Telephone app itself. The minimalist UI might put you off initially, but the app does what it says it will do and does it well on my 2011 Macbook Air. Alexei really should charge a few bucks for this. I’d happily pay.

Just call

Overall this is a great app. However, I need to be able to call into conference lines and sometimes record them (to transcribe) but there doesn’t seem to be a way to enter the access code for the call so I have to use my normal phone. This means I can’t record the call and it’s a huge problem. I’d happily pay for this app if it had that feature. I’ve checked the forum and noticed other people had the same problem so it’s not that I’m just an idiot (which was a possibility). Otherwise this is a good app and I use it frequently.

Simple app for voip phone calls.

I’m a little lost. Downloaded app, but can’t get it to function. Please help!

Not working… It asks for SIP address and I don’t have one and don’t know how to get one. Calls are not going through.

Only problem is you cannot enter DTMF (phone tones) for systems that require you to enter 1- to do this or 2 to do that.

Exactly what’s advertized. No attempt to lock-in with a provider. Ideal and simple.

I have been using this app for around two years. Everything was working great until I updated my Mac OS. Now whenever my computer comes out of sleep mode this app crashes and needs to be re-opened.

Glad to see this software getting updates again. It’s a very basic program that does exactly what it says and nothing else. Easily worth 4 or 5 dollars, a good example of what the app store should be filled with.

Great simple app that does the job. Only downside is no dialpad so if you have to press one for something or to call voicemail it is useless. would also be better if it just lived in the system tray and droped down from there.

This is a great simple app. I use it through my Voip provider voip.ms, without any issues. The developer is quick to respond to support questions. When they sort out having this reconnect from sleep this will be perfect. I do like the ideas shared below to have this sit in the system tray as a drop down perhaps make it a premium option I would be willing to pay for that

Paid for the monthly subscription and can’t find a way to stop it other than removing my card from the app

光電話(PR200NE)と接続して、Mac OS 10.6.6での発信と着信を確認しました。 初回起動時の設定では上手く接続できず、「Preferences」->「Accounts」の「Advanced」タブで「SIP Address」"ユーザーID@〜"に成っている所を"内線番号@〜"に変更する必要があります。 未だ使い込んでいる訳では有りませんが、今のところ、10.6.6でひかり電話と接続できた、唯一の無償SIPクライアントです。

SIP サーバを適切に設定するだけで Mac から Fusion IP Phone の発着信ができました。

Its really simple and yet very handy, especially the Address Book integration is what I really need! Thanks a lot Alexei!
