Works, but the quality is poor

I like the fact that it is easy to handle and has a nice look. But the voice quality is worse than any other voip software. I use Sj Phone and the voice quality is much better. Also an sms function would be nice.

Lovely little app.

Love that this app continues to be updated. The latest update allows dialing out on my works Asterisk server. No extra features, no cluttered UI, no complaints! Does exactly what I need it to.

Its free ? realy ?

Wouah ! this application is amazing ! its able to connect to any standard SIP without a need of understanding SIP system. I run my own Asterisk server, and it can connect from anywhere :-) Simple, extremly fast and it works ! Thanks for your good work ! suggestion : add prefix automatically for Contact from Address Book

it is neat

bt headseat crash issue has been fixed! thanks!

Always does the right thing

The great thing about this app is that it gets the subtle details right. I used to use some other voip apps and there were always little annoyances, but with this one I havent encountered any. * Its so nice that when I plug in my headset it automatically switches to it without asking after the first time I set the app to use it. * I also like that I can mute a call simply by pressing M, no modifiers or key combinations to worry about. * It also works great when you need to dial in at prompts - a simple thing that often doesnt work well with other apps. * I like that I can right click on a phone number in Address Book to make a call, plus that I can highlight any phone number in any app, right click it and select Telephone: Call All in all a terrific app!

didnt work for me

I successfully logged in with my voipbuster account but didnt get anywhere after that. I tried calling numbers and it would just try and not succeed. The UI is terrible for this app. Only a blank window with a text field is initally shown.

Simple yet effective.

Well if you are expecting a product with all the bells and whistles then this isnt the one for you. But if you are looking for a product that does its job well then Telephone is a great product. Bare bones doenst even come close to describing this app. It does VoIP and integrates with your address book and thats pretty much it. Couple things Id like to see. 1) Mabey a small control panel for the various phone controls. 2) DTMF tones! When Im entering numbers Im not getting back any DTMF tones, they are being sent but I cant hear them.

it Works!!

works just as I hoped, its so simple

Thanks for adding the tone signals!

The only thing that was keeping this program from getting a great from me was the fact that I couldnt send tone signals. Now upon reading the descriptions Ive learned that this feature has been added. Still wish it was a little more obvious this has been added. Id still like to be able to have a separate dialpad window so that I can see the numbers with the letters as sometime you need to spell things out with the numbers and it is not easy to do because I cant remember what letters are on what numbers. That or allow the typing of letters as well when on the call. So for example typing "a, b, or c" would send a "2" and typing "p, q, r, s" would send a "7" and so on. That would give this program a truly awesome! Could you please add the ability to type letters as well to send their associated number equivalents? I know that some other contries have other letters on their standard phone dial pad, so it might be a good idea to have a preference where you can have a field for each number and then what characters would be acceptable for sending that number. Cheers, Andrew.

Easy & Capable

Telephone is the Easiest and Lightest SIP Client Ive used. And putting it on the App Store makes it just that much easier to access. Thanks Alexei! Keep Telephone free so more can enjoy it, but also, put a donate button up! =)

Would be 5 stars if I cound send tones

Love the app, super simple and works as advertsied. Unfortunately in this day and age not being able to send tones is a deal breaker. Pretty much _any_ company that you call you will need to send touch tones for one reason or another. If this could send tones I would happily pay for it as it works so much better than the over-priced alternatives (you know who you are, I wont mention names here). Ive bough a couple of the overpriced ones in the past and they barely work, if at all. Again this would have 5 stars and I would happily pay a reasonable price for it with the addition of a simple dial pad to send touch tones as required. Until then its probably not too useful as a real "telephone" ...

Great Apps

Work out of the box. Fantastic. on next update add a record button please.

Worked first time

I was looking for a simple app for voip and found this one : installed it, configured it and it worked flawlessly instantly. Awesome app and free too

I thought it will be great to have this App as I can use my existing Vonage account from my Mac Book Pro. But it never worked. I tried contacting Alexei Kuznetsov, but never got any help.
