Very bad

It looks simple and efficient but not configurable. If you enter something wrong on initial screen, there is noway to get back and reset the information again. I have no idea where the hell they hide the configuration file!

Does what it does

This is a simple VOIP app that works perfect with my mavericks. Again this app is simple and has basic functionality but it does what it does best.

Light, simple, terribly quick. Excellent!

Checked it with freeconet - no problems with setup, works like a charm.

Simple and fast!

The app gives everything you need to sip-call! I use it almost 4 years.

OTTIMA APP

The one and only app that is minimalist, and correctly working in sip/voip mode. Pity for missing support to IAX and a few functions like in call mute microfone and directmedia support. Anyway, a great app....4 stars because it can still improve a lot.

Closing call doesnt work

The app is simple but working really well. Problem is that I cant terminate the call: if I press on the X, the remote phone continue ringing. Using OS X Lion.

Love it !

Great App ! Clean , minimal , nice , it works !

It quits unexpectedly

The last update introduced a serious problem for me. The application quits unexpectedly every time i receive a call.

Works

It works as expected, would be lovely to be able to see the list of contacts from Mac’s Contacts and the list of the recent calls done. Other than that, is perfect.

Not bad

I wish it were improved by adding a recent calls view and some other useful features like fixed speaker volume for incoming calls. Also I’d like incoming calls to be reachable in a fashion like FaceTime notification popup

thanks, but...

Thanks to the author for this simple voip client, that was actually close to what I was looking for. I don’t need a history, contacts etc I just need occasional calls. And it’s actually working fine for me. The only disappointing thing is the interface, I believe the author decided it’s easy to use, but actually it’s just looking unprofessional, especially when you don’t allow access to your contacts. PLEASE, dear author, add the CALL button to the right of the text field (maybe just the phone image button is enough) and add «Enter phone number» suggestion inside the text field, which will disappear when typing the text. I believe that is 20 minutes work. Thanks again!!!

Address not found

just try to cal on +1-234-567-8901 and you will get Address not found. What Address, it’s a number

This app was great until . . . no dial pad.

I have been using this app in my office for about a year. I have a PBX system with 10 or so extensions. It is incredibly simple and the transfer function works very well. I also appreciate Telephones ability to recognise numbers and contacts from my address book. The ability to check missed calls in my Notifications center is a nice new touch. It was perfect until . . . I am not sure when but at some point the ability to "show dial pad" disappeared from the menu. This is an absolute necessity if you ever need to punch in numbers to navigate a phone answering system or enter account information when calling a bank. ADD IT BACK! I only noticed this function is now missing since the optional patronage began. I would be happy to support this app, I couldn’t believe it was free, because it is a well developed app and since I have used it professionally for about a year but at the moment I am looking for another solution which has a dialpad option.

Minimal, yet powerful

If there is a flaw, it is only that the app hides too much of its power. It doesn’t show a dial pad window, for example, because you simply use the number keys on your keyboard—including * and #—even during a call. There is no contacts list or buddy list, either; your contacts live in your Contacts app. The app is simple and reliable. It supports the codecs and DTMF options required for various VoIP services. I have tested it with Vonage Business, RingCentral, and 8x8, with good results. Compared with other VoIP softphone apps, this is easily the most Mac-like. It uses built-in MacOS notifications for incoming calls; double-click the notification and click “Answer” to answer an incoming call quickly. It also provides a service which, if enabled in System Preferences, allows you to highlight any phone number to call it. As with other VoIP apps, audio device selection can be a little tricky. It prefers to use the device you select in its preferences and does not follow your system’s default mic and speakers. This can cause a little confusion if you are trying to change devices in the middle of a call. If I were to ask for one feature, it would be a menu for quickly switching between devices, to help minimize fumbling. I suggest going through the menus, learning the keyboard shortcuts, and checking the FAQ on the developer’s web site. There is some good information there, including how to tweak things like “Touch Tone” (DTMF) duration and interval, if required for your system.

Simple and works well.

Simple and works well. TIP: Press M to mute your mic. Update: Although the app says my mic is muted, it actually isnt! An annoying bug that could cause major issues.

I love the simplicity!

Its everything and I need and less :-) Works well with my Vonage SoftPhone account. It seems pretty bulletproof and I love it!

Love It!

This app does simply just work!

100% great app

Great, straightforward phone app. Love the address book integration. Start typing name, press enter, talk. Only suggestion is to integrate with the system-wide phone number recognizers. i.e. type a phone number in textedit, then it gives you options to Create contect, Edit contact, Large type, Copy... I think you can hook into that.

No dial pad

Seriously? No dial pad at all? What is this?

Whats In A Name

The name "telephone" makes it nearly impossible to use Google to identify how to connect Telephone to the Google Voice service…
